BRAC and BURO Bangladesh have received the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) Award 2009 for “Best Presented Accounts and Corporate Governance Disclosures”. BRAC topped the list with BURO winning the second position. Finance Minister of Nepal Mr. Surendra Pandey handed over the awards at a ceremony held in Kathmandu on 12 December, 2010. Mr. S. N Kiary Director Finance of BRAC and Mr. Pranesh Banik, Deputy Director of Training of BURO Bangladesh received the awards on behalf of their respective organizations.

SAFA, a forum of professional accountancy bodies, is committed to positioning, maintaining and developing the accountancy profession in SAARC Region and ensuring its continued eminence in the world of accountancy. The SAFA Awards under different categories are conferred on the basis of evaluation administered by SAFA’s Committee for Improvement in Transparency, Accountability & Governance, of the published annual reports of entities from South Asian Countries.
